Welcome to the Mountain & Plains Border Collie Association!
Established in 1984, the Mountain & Plains Border Collie Association is dedicated to maintaining the border collie as a working stockdog while ensuring the well-being of the dogs and the livestock. We seek to promote the border collie as the working stockdog it has been bred to be for hundreds of years; educate the public on the abilities, working characteristics, variations in type, and recognized registries for the breed; and encourage organized work sessions, fun days, clinics, and trials so members can develop their dogs to the fullest extent of their natural abilities. The MPBCA membership includes a diverse group of Border Collie enthusiasts. Current members in the MPBCA range from full-time ranchers who use their dogs for daily stock work, to individuals who consider their Border Collies pets yet still want to provide an outlet for the dogs’ natural instinct. Members come from a wide range of backgrounds and possess varying levels of knowledge about Border Collies and working stock. The common thread within every member is the dedication to the Border Collie breed as a working stockdog. Membership dues are $20 for an individual membership or $30 for a family membership per calendar year. More information about becoming a member can be found here.
